In the reception area there are white noise sound machines and classical music to further enhance confidentiality.

National Therapist Confidentiality Standards:

All psychotherapy records and transmission of clinical information, via telephone, fax, standard mail, or e-mail, are maintained in a strictly confidential manner, with the following legally mandated exceptions: Therapists are required by law to report suspected child/ elder abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.

If, in the therapist’s professional judgment it seems likely that you may harm yourself, then we are required to take action to try to protect you. This may include contacting the police, relatives and other health care providers who can assist in protecting you.

Therapists are required by law to report intent to harm another person. If, in the therapist’s professional judgment it seems likely that you have intent to harm someone, then we are required to take action to warn or protect that individual. This may include contact with the police, the intended victim and other health care providers.
